Did you know that Bots are killing your engagement on Instagram? So what are Bots, they are also known as fake followers.

But what if I told you there’s a way to get rid of those pesky Bots and breathe new life into your account?

I recently underwent a major overhaul of my Instagram strategy, and one of the key changes I made was to remove hundreds of bots and fake followers. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it has made a world of difference.

Here are three reasons why I did it, and why you might want to consider doing the same:

  1. Quality Over Quantity:  By removing fake followers, you can focus on building a smaller but more engaged audience that truly cares about what you have to say.
  2. Algorithm: Instagram’s algorithm favors accounts with high engagement rates.
  3. Content is King: Focus on creating compelling, actionable content that resonates with your audience.

So, how can you start cleaning up your Instagram account?

Here’s how to identify them

  1. No Followers or very little
  2. No Engagement
  3. Men in Military Uniform
  4. No Profile picture
  5. Stock Photos
  6. No Bio
  7. Following large accounts
  8. Following thousands of accounts
  9. Account name: A mix of names and numbers
  10. No Posts

How to stop spam bots on Instagram

  1. Limit comments to just followers or people who follow you
  2. Avoid using broad-based hashtags
  3. Limit tagging locations
  4. Report Bots

Don’t let vanity metrics get in the way of building your platform. By focusing on quality over quantity, optimizing your engagement metrics, and creating compelling content, you can build a more authentic and engaged audience that will truly support your brand.
