OMG! Let’s just get right to the point.

President Trump signed an executive order to ban TikTok.  What the What?

I’m not going to get into the reasons why this is happening or a political debate.

If you want to learn more about why this is happening there are tons of articles on the internet. Just Google it.

Why is this important to you and me?  Even if you’re not on TikTok this could still affect your business.

WHY? Keep reading and I’ll explain.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican or Democrat.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Trump lover or a Trump hater.

It doesn’t matter if you’re on TikTok or another social media platform.

What really matters is, if you’re building a brand on social media and that’s the only way you are communicating with your customers you could be in danger of losing your business.

WHY?

You DON’T own any of the social media platforms that you are on, like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.

Basically, you have the privilege of using them. If something goes wonky and it gets shut down for whatever reason you could lose your customers in an instant.

So, what can you do?

You need to own your own website and blog.  Bottom Line. This way if one of your social media platforms goes down you still have a way to communicate with your followers and you can build a solid brand that no one can take away from you.

Bye Bye TikTok

The goal is to use your social media platforms to find your people and build your brand and once you have them move them to your website to sign up for your blog.

HERE’S MY POINT

Don’t just rely on social media platforms to build your brand. Look at what could happen to all the people that have built their business strictly on TikTok.  In just 45 days they could lose all their followers. UGH!

This is one of the biggest things I stress in my coaching course. You need to own your platform. You have to have a website. It’s the only thing you have complete control over, where you have a voice, where you can communicate with your community of followers.

Listen, I know this can seem a little intimating and you ‘re probably thinking where do I even start?
