Have you ever wondered how some people are successful and some aren’t? Why does everything they touch turn into gold? What is their secret to success?

And you ask yourself, what are they doing that I’m not doing?

I’ve been reading a lot about this topic, because like you, I was also curious.

And what I found is quite simple.

There are countless people who have achieved success after the age of 50.

Although it’s easy to assume that these people are successful because they are naturally smart or have years of business experience is not necessarily true.

They are ordinary people just like you and me. They have had their doubts, failures, and uncertainties. But they also had ideas, dreams, and a vision.

Here are two amazing ladies that will inspire you

Angie Higa, a banker, a grandmother, and an entrepreneur

After 30 years in the banking industry, Angie decided to retire early in 2008 to care for her granddaughter during her eldest daughter’s military deployment to Afghanistan.

From banker to a stay home grandmother, Angie found the time to do what she always loves and that was her love for designing and sewing. Her business idea came to her mind after catching a bad cold on a 7-hour flight because there were no blankets on board the aircraft. And in 2009 she launched her business, the Sky Dreams, travel blanket and matching comfort pillows manufacturing company. Source:  https://arkenea.com/blog/entrepreneurs-above-50/

Does someone need to be a tech-whiz to run an e-commerce store online?

She started a business called Opera Nuts from her kitchen. She started this business by making chocolate nuts and giving them away to her friends. Now she has online orders, and she regularly hosts pop-ups at Williams Sonoma.

She didn’t know anything about starting an online store at first. In NYC, there’s a group called Senior Planet that offers free services for seniors. They have a group of volunteers who help seniors learn about tech. So, she met with a young woman who helped her launch her website for Opera Nuts.

So, what is their secret to success?

There is one simple answer. THEY DIDN’T GIVE UP!

They kept going. They set their mind on their goals and press on and you can too.

I talk to a lot of women in their 50’s and 60’s who are thinking of starting a business or have started one but need help getting it off the ground.

There is one thing they all have in common: women are natural perfectionists and want everything perfect before they launch. But what we need to understand is it doesn’t have to be perfect, and you will make mistakes, that’s part of the growing process. Just start by taking one step at a time. The secret to success is to keep going.
